Equipment: Canon 600D, SD Card, Charger, RODE Mic, Tripod.
Talent: Actor
Contingency Situation 1: Equipment breaks or fails to function – the camera may not turn on or begin recording. It could also get dropped and become damaged.
Response 1: Attempt to fix the problem within the group
Response 2: Attempt to source a replacement camera
Response 3: Return camera to school and reschedule filming.
Contingency Situation 2: Injury/illness with actress or actors, broken leg etc.
Response 1: Determine how serious the issue is and alert the shopkeeper straight away. If the injury is minor, use the first aid kit in the shop to treat the person accordingly.
Response 2: If major, follow the procedure on the risk assessment, dial 999. Find a replacement actor/actress for another day, thus delaying the filming.
Response 3: If the talent becomes unwell (e.g. flu) while on set, contact their parents and ask them if the issue is known. Arrange for them to be picked up and reschedule filming for another day.
Contingency Situation 3: Actor does not arrive
Response 1: Phone actor on their mobile
Response 2: If they are running late, wait up to an hour for them, ensuring the set is ready to begin filming in when they arrive.
Response 3: Rearrange the filming day and time with them for a suitable time within the week. If they are unavailable for filming, find an actor to replace them.
Contingency Situation 4: Bad Weather
Response 1: Film shots for the outside of the shop – close up of actor sitting on the wall
Response 2: If the ground is too wet to access our filming area, rearrange filming for the next day.
Response 3: Use a rain jacket to protect the camera. Provide actors with rain jackets, and find shelter in between shots.
