Loving Someone Music Video - First Scene Edit

Hello!

I have just finished editing the first scene of our music video. How do you think it looks? Does it conform to
the indie genre well?

Thank you!

Dear Dirty Hit

We are students from Southgate School currently studying Media Studies at A level. We are currently in the process of preparing for our production coursework, which consists of planning and creating a music video.

We believe that 'Loving Someone' by The 1975 would be the perfect song for our music video and we are writing to you today to ask for your permission for its use.

The narrative based video follows three young, rebellious teenagers who decide to break into a church. Each of their stories are displayed to the audience through a series of flashbacks, which explain why they are deciding to rebel. The end of the video sees each of their issues resolved as they begin to realise how futile their actions are. For example, one teenager turns to thieving to fulfil his addiction to alcohol and decides, by the end of the video, to return the stolen alcohol to the shop after his experience in the church.

Our work will be assessed by OCR examining board and exhibited at the Southgate School Media Oscars.

Please respond to this email if you are happy for us to use your soundtrack in our music video.

If you have an queries/worries please contact Andrew on: +44 7961 071145.

Many thanks,

Hello Andrew

If this video is purely towards your examination results, and not for viewing by the general public, then no licence is required.

Good luck, and kind regards

Contingency Plan - Shoot Day 3

Contingency Plan: Shoot Day 3

Shoot Day 3: Londis scene– Scene 3
Jason steals alcohol from the corner shop – Begins with a mid shot of Jason entering the store. He is tracked while walking towards the back of the store from behind, where he picks up a bottle off the shelf. He is then tracked out of the shop through an extreme close up.

Equipment: Canon 600D, SD Card, Charger, RODE Mic, Tripod.
Talent: Actor

Contingency Situation 1: Equipment breaks or fails to function – the camera may not turn on or begin recording. It could also get dropped and become damaged.
Response 1: Attempt to fix the problem within the group
Response 2: Attempt to source a replacement camera
Response 3: Return camera to school and reschedule filming.

Contingency Situation 2: Injury/illness with actress or actors, broken leg etc.
Response 1: Determine how serious the issue is and alert the shopkeeper straight away. If the injury is minor, use the first aid kit in the shop to treat the person accordingly.
Response 2:  If major, follow the procedure on the risk assessment, dial 999. Find a replacement actor/actress for another day, thus delaying the filming.
Response 3: If the talent becomes unwell (e.g. flu) while on set, contact their parents and ask them if the issue is known. Arrange for them to be picked up and reschedule filming for another day.

Contingency Situation 3: Actor does not arrive
Response 1: Phone actor on their mobile
Response 2: If they are running late, wait up to an hour for them, ensuring the set is ready to begin filming in when they arrive.
Response 3: Rearrange the filming day and time with them for a suitable time within the week. If they are unavailable for filming, find an actor to replace them.

Contingency Situation 4: Bad Weather
Response 1: Film shots for the outside of the shop – close up of actor sitting on the wall
Response 2: If the ground is too wet to access our filming area, rearrange filming for the next day.
Response 3: Use a rain jacket to protect the camera. Provide actors with rain jackets, and find shelter in between shots.
